About This Store
The Tiffany & Co. store in the Ginza neighborhood of Tokyo was designed by internationally renowned architect Kengo Kuma. Kuma, who translates traditional Japanese building techniques and styles into spaces for the 21st century, has built masterpieces all over the world. A few of his notable projects include the Suntory Museum of Art in Tokyo, Bamboo Wall House in China and the new National Stadium that will house the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Kuma’s signature aesthetic of transparency and harmony with nature is reflected in the diamond-like honeycomb glass façade of the building and the modern woodwork of the interior walls. This juxtaposition of graphic and organic elements creates a dynamic space that echoes Tiffany’s philosophy of modern design.
